This Java applet Chrome extension is especially convenient because you don't have to reload the web page in a new tab. I have a Mac G5 and am trying to run an applet on any webbrowser. I would like to run a complex application, but right now I can't even get a simple World applet to work.

I am using mozilla browser on MAC OS. I am calling Applet through JavaScript. I write .java.policy file on MAC OS. But at the time of calling the applet is asking for the setting the security permissions.How to set the security permissions on MAC OS?
How do I set the .java.policy file on MAC OS?
Plz give me any idea to get out of the puzzle ??

there are two places u can put security options.
1. .java.security in the USER's HOME directory
2. java.security in the java.home/lib/security/java.policy (or the java.home/jre/lib/sercurity/java.policy)
java.home is the directory where u installed java.
i'm not dead sure about the 2nd location as i found two different paths at different reference sites. but i'm sure either it's in JRE/lib/security directory or the simple lib/security (for me it was in jre/lib/security on Linux)...
in short, find out java.security on Mac system as java.security is generally scanned first for security options and that sets options for all the users on the system. if u use USER HOme directory's .java.security file then it applies to only that specific user ( i guess u already knew this).
so if u put ur settings in java.security it should work. i am not a great user of Mac OS so i don't know where it keeps USER's HOME directory etc....so i suggest Brute Force approach
let me know if u r able to find USER's HOME directory on MAC OS and able to put restrictions on .java.security file....
well, one of my friends just told me that all the user's home directories should be under 'users' directory in the Mac OS Root directory. so if u r user 'YourName' then it should be '::users::YourName' directory (i am neither sure of the file path seperator in Mac bare with me)
